The 4th years students talk about their daily routines.

Learning about food

This month the 4th class students are learning abour food, not only what we eat but also why we need to eat different food groups and what we have to do to keep healthy. This is the result of their work.

Quality Stamp

Congratulations to all the participants in our project "Our School News Magazine". We've been awarded with the National Quality Stamp.

eTwinning Quality Labels are granted to teachers with excellent eTwinning projects. They indicate that the project has reached a certain national and European standard. For this reason, there are two labels: the National Quality Label and the European Quality Label.

What are the criteria? A project has to broadly achieve excellence in the following areas: (1) Pedagogical Innovation and Creativity, (2) Curricular Integration, (3) Collaboration between partner schools, (4) Creative use of ICT, (5) Sustainability and Transferability, and (6) Results and Benefits.

Now we'll go for the European Stamp.

Logo competition winner

Ana from 5th class has won the logo competition organised by Our school news magazine. The second prize has been for Klaudiusz from Poland and the 3rd one for Sena from Turkey. Congratulations to everybody for the good work.

Houses made of wood

My name is Karen. I'm from Sweden. Sweden has got lots of trees in enormous forests. We make a lot of things from wood, like chairs, tables, cupboards and toys. Some houses are made of wood too, like our summer house. It's near a lake. We live here all summer. We swim in the lake evry day. We go fishing in our boat. We catch lots of fish and then cook them for lunch. i'm always happy here.

My name's Praya. I'm from Thailand. We're on holiday, and this is our hotel! It's a tree house jn a nature reserve. It's got two bedrroms and a bathroom. We climb a ladder to our rooms. It's high, but I'm not scared. There isn't any electricity so we don't listen to music or watch TV here. We swim in the river, walk in the jungle and watch the wild animals from the bedrooms. It's brilliant.

Our Headmistress

St – What’s your name?

Ch - My name is Mª Concepción but everybody calls me Chelo.

St – How long have you been in the school?

Ch - 5 years

St – Have you taught in more schools?

Ch - Yes. I’ve been in many schools, in different towns for example Bilbao, Barakaldo, Mungia, Elorrio…

St - What’s your job in the school?

Ch -   I’m the head mistress.

St – How many years have you been the head mistress?

Ch -This is my second year.

St – Do you like it?

Ch - Yes.

St – When are you going to stop being the head mistress?

Ch - I’ll be the head mistress at least 2 more years. After that, we’ll think about it.

St – What did you teach before?

Ch -   I am a Primary teacher so I taught everything except English.

St – What do you prefer: being a teacher or the head mistress?

Ch -   A teacher.

St – Tell us something a head mistress does.

Ch – I, organize the school, talk to the families, go to meetings, ask money to improve the school, care for people, check everything is ok...

St – Do you know when the school was built?

Ch – More than 40 years ago

St – How many students are there? And teachers?

Ch – There are 130 students and 22 teachers.

St – Can you tell us of any plan for the future of the school? For example showers in the gym, a covered playground…

Ch – We’ve asked money to the Town Hall many times but they don’t give it to us. So we have to wait.

St – Would you go from this school? Do you like it?

Ch – Yes, I like it. I asked to be in this school so I don’t want to leave.

5^th class students

Christmas activities

These Christmas we've prepared two performances for the school Christmas show, both of them related to Rudolph, Santa's reindeer. The first one is a theatre "Rudolph Story" performed by the 3rd and 4th years students. You can see in the video one of the last rehearsal as the show video didn't come out.

Christmas Cards Exchange Project

"Our Christmas Cards Exchange" project is finished. We've received all the postcards and this is the final result. You can see the poster in the entrance of the school.

Our school News magazine - Autumn issue

The first issue of our new magazine has been printed. If you want to have a look you can see the following presentation.

eTwinning 2011 - 2012

This year we keep taking part in two eTwinning projects.
The first one is "Christmas cards exchange". We are exchanging Christmas cards with 20 European schools. Until now we have received the postcards from 6 countries: Spain, Italy, Romania,, Bulgaria, Greece and Portugal. In a few days we will received the others. They are taking part from 3rd to 6th year of Primary.

The second project is "Our School News Magazine". We are working with two schools: one Polish and one Turkish. Our aim is   to publish a magazine every term. The Autumn issue is already out. Our 4th and 5th year students have worked very hard. Congratulations!

First Science steps

We've made the first steps teaching Science in English. until now it's been successful. You can see the following video to see some of the things we've been doing.
